What You’ll Do
Parts Manager Summary:
The Parts Manager candidate must possess a thorough, proven knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts and inventory control systems to lead sales and warehousing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate, interact, and manage relationships with auto parts vendors.
Handles customer complaints immediately and according to guidelines.
Cultivate and grow relationships with vendors and customers to increase market share.
Oversee the shipment of replacement parts, handle complex or pressing customer issues.
Manage and supervise parts inventory, purchasing and invoicing and review and approve all inventory invoices for payment.
Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts, including a telemarketing program to keep in contact with customers.
Work with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
Analyze departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness of inventory control, staff efficiency and public display.
Hire, train, mentor and lead the parts department staff. Conduct annual performance reviews, employee schedules, employee payroll. Provide coaching to team members on ways to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned in an organized, timely manner.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements:
Two years of sales experience.
A high school qualification or equivalent.
Two years of experience in an automotive/truck parts dept.
Attention to detail and Excellent communication and sales skills.
Solid inventory management skills, sales techniques and methodologies, systems and product knowledge, warehouse storage systems and storage layout principles.
Strong organizational and communication skills, pricing principles and discounting techniques.
