NationaLease Website Revamps Careers Page, Sees Immediate Rise in Usage
Linking the new Careers page to job aggregators like Indeed.com and changing the submission format to better entice job applicants have contributed
to the sharp rise in usage, according to Jane Clark, Vice President of Member Services for NationaLease.
July 24, 2013, Downers Grove, IL – With its new Careers page up and running, NationaLease
has seen the number of postings on its Website for job openings within the network of independent truck leasing companies jump dramatically.
“Since we launched the new page, we have had more than 50 job posted so far, which is a huge improvement over the previous page” said Jane Clark, Vice President
of Member Services. Among other upgrades, she credited the new standardized posting form that asks prospective employers to supply certain information with each
job offer, meant to stimulate the interest of job seekers. “First we ask employers to describe their business. Next, we ask them to tell job seekers what benefits
they offer them. There’s also a section entitled ‘What You’ll Do’ and another headlined ‘What We’re Looking For.’ We think the user-friendly format and wording
is what’s encouraging the increased use of the page,” she said.
Another major improvement over the early job site is initially less evident but ultimately more significant to employers and applicants alike. “We had our IT staff
at NationaLease connect every posting to job aggregator sites like Indeed.com so that the maximum number of qualified applicants become aware of the job openings,”
said Clark, who has been able to apply her 15-plus years in the recruiting industry to her work at NationaLease.
Sharon Solano of Kirk NationaLease, headquartered in Sidney, OH, said she has seen the quantity, and more importantly, the quality of applicants increase since she
started posting Kirk’s jobs on the NationaLease Website. “I really like that it pulls through to Indeed.com,” she said. She
also expressed her appreciation of the consistent, professional look of the Careers page, which she feels is a better advertisement for Kirk NationaLease among job
seekers.
Vinnie Volpe of Grane NationaLease in Chicago shared a similar success story. “I got the perfect candidate for my Trailer Mechanic job within three hours of posting
it on the NationaLease Website,” he said. The candidate interviewed the next day, and according to Volpe, the only thing that slowed down the process was waiting
for the clinic to return the physical and drug screen results. The mechanic started less than seven days after the job was posted.
