NationaLease Announces Top Tech Winner of the 8th Annual Tech Challenge

Nine Regional Finalists Competed in the Hands-on Portion of Event

June 14, 2018, Downers Grove, IL — Rick Davis, Lead Technician with Hogan Truck Leasing, Inc., a NationaLease Member, was named Top Tech at the 8th Annual NationaLease Tech Challenge. The event was hosted by Advantage Truck Leasing, a NationaLease Member, in Charlotte, NC, during the organization’s annual Maintenance Managers Meeting, held May 16-18 at the Embassy Suites in Charlotte.

From a field of 225 Tech Challenge participants, representing NationaLease’s full service truck leasing companies from the US and Canada, nine qualifying technicians earned their spots in the final competition after finishing first in their region on an earlier written knowledge exam. At the Advantage Truck Leasing location, they competed in the hands-on portion of the event, exhibiting their expertise in stations that included starting and charging, electrical, brakes, suspension, wheel ends, drive train, DEF, tires, and engine diagnostics.

Joining the 2018 NationaLease Tech Challenge Top Tech recipient Rick Davis on the winning team were First Runner-up Bob Mrzyglod, Aim NationaLease, and Second Runner-up, John Norwood, also from Aim NationaLease. These three gentlemen will represent the NationaLease organization at the TMC Annual SuperTech Competition to be held later this year. The winners were presented with their awards at the NationaLease Winners Circle Awards Dinner on May 17th.

The remaining six of the nine Tech Challenge finalists included:

  • Justin Torgerson, Aim NationaLease
  • Ray Evans, Aim NationaLease
  • Dan Penkert, Harrison Rental & Leasing, a NationaLease Member
  • Stephen Vought, Aim NationaLease
