NationaLease Technician Cracks Top 10 at TMC’s SuperTech Skills Competition

All three participants rose through the ranks at this year’s event

September 27, 2018, Downers Grove, IL — NationaLease, one of the largest full service truck leasing organizations in North America, had three “Top Techs” competing in the Technology & Maintenance Council’s SuperTech Skills Competition held during the recent TMC Fall Meeting in Orlando. Technician Rick Davis of Hogan Truck Leasing, Inc., a NationaLease Member, moved up four places from last year to finish 8th this year, cracking the top 10 list of winners.

The TMC SuperTech heavy-duty division is North America’s premier skills competition for professional commercial vehicle technicians. Contestants come from all segments of the trucking industry and show what they know through a combination of written exams and hands-on challenges.

“At NationaLease, we conduct our own Tech Challenge for our members’ technicians throughout North America,” commented Joe Puff, Vice President of Truck Technology and Maintenance for NationaLease. “The Tech Challenge is comprised of a written exam and a hands-on practical exam. We then sponsor the top three finalists to compete at TMC’s SuperTech competition. Competitions like these honor our industry technicians with some very valuable recognition - recognition they so well deserve. It’s easy to overlook the amount of training and practice these techs endure to become some of the best of the best. And they’re not just doing it for bragging rights; they are doing it to provide our customers with the best service in the industry. The technology is changing so fast that to maintain a true “A” level status, technicians must be dedicated to continual professional development. It never stops. Ninety-six finalists competed on the last day of the event. NationaLease-sponsored technicians ranked as follows:

• #8 Rick Davis/ Hogan Truck Leasing, Inc., a NationaLease Member (from 12th place in 2017)
• #34 John Norwood/Aim NationaLease (a 13 place jump from last year’s event)
• #39 Bob Mrzyglod/Aim NationaLease (an 11 place jump over last year’s event)
