Fraud and Cybercrime
The U.S. Secret Service was created in 1865 to combat counterfeit currency. Today, Secret Service agents work around the world to fight the financial crimes, which are now conducted through cyberspace. These investigations address counterfeit, which still occurs, but it is credit card fraud, wire and bank fraud, computer network breaches, ransomware, and other cyber-enabled financial crimes, that have become the focus of the Secret Service investigations. Special Agents Street and Bryant will share information about cyber investigations, ransomware attacks, point-of-sale (POS) compromises and other forms of cybercrime.
