Technician Recruitment and Training
A 2017 Association of Equipment Dealers study estimated that dealers lose $2.4B of revenue a year due to technician shortages. Whether it is a shop, a dealer, or a leasing company, one open mechanic position for 45 days costs that company a minimum of $62,000 in revenue. The industry needs more than 30,000 new mechanics per year to enter the profession but US schools are producing roughly 5,000. Tim Spurlock will provide an in-depth overview of the technician shortage, including its underlying causes. Most importantly, Tim will offer real and effective solutions, supported by real life cases and data.

SHIFT the Way You Execute Results
Organizations create impressive strategies but fail too often in their attempts to get results. Kathryn Brohman will explain how companies can improve their ability to execute results by identifying specific execution barriers that are too often overlooked and need to be addressed. At the core of SHIFTING the way you execute results is the novel concept of “drag”, a competing force to execution that organizations can quantify to assess the degree to which execution barriers are causing valuable organizational resources to be misdirected and wasted. This interactive session will use mobile technology to involve participants in exploring their own execution barriers, assessing “drag” caused by these barriers, and best practices for removing them.
